Giddings man arrested following pursuit in Burleson, Lee counties

According to Caldwell PD, Nathan Ray Artmann Wallace took off after an officer approached him while investigating an online solicitation of a minor case.

CALDWELL, Burleson County — A Lee County man was taken into custody on Thursday, Aug. 8 while officers were investigating an online solicitation of a minor case.

According to the Caldwell Police Department, that day around 9 p.m., officers from the Caldwell Police Department, Department of Public Safety (DPS), and Burleson County Sheriff's Office attempted to make contact with a man in a red Dodge truck in the Davidson Creek Park area in Caldwell. The driver and suspect, Nathan Ray Artmann Wallace, of Giddings, drove off despite attempts from officers to get him to stop.

A pursuit ensued, going from Burleson County to Lee County, which got the pursuing officers from Burleson County more assistance as the Giddings Police Department, Lee County Constable Precinct 2, and Lee County Sheriff's Office joined in apprehending Wallace.

At some point, Wallace abandoned his car on US 290 East in Lee County and attempted to flee from the pursuing law enforcement officers on foot, but was spotted in a pasture near US 290 and captured. He was taken back to the Burleson County Jail in Caldwell and booked on three felony offenses: online solicitation of a minor, evading arrest in a motor vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1.
