MADISON COUNTY, Texas — A man that pled guilty to two indictments for child sexual abuse charges was sentenced to 20 years in prison, according to the Madison County District Attorney's Office.
According to authorities, an investigation revealed that Nathan Cole Phillips had sexual contact with two juveniles under the age of 17 before Jan. 16, 2023.
Phillips confessed to his actions, later pleading guilty on Jan. 29, 2024.
Once his 20-year prison sentence has been served, Phillips will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life, according to the District Attorney's Office.
"Defendants who sexually abuse children in Madison County will face harsh consequences," said District Attorney Courtney Cain. "I am proud a resolution was obtained without victims having to go through the trauma of testifying and reliving this nightmare in the courtroom."
