Man claiming to be special agent gets arrested for driving stolen vehicle in College Station

According to a police report, Dustin Rhodes also had marijuana in the stolen truck he was driving.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A 50-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for driving a stolen car and possessing marijuana, according to a report from College Station Police.

That day, CSPD received a call about a suspicious person at a Smoothie King in the area of Rock Prairie Road that was claiming to be an FBI/Special Agent and asking for free drinks. The man, later revealed to be Dustin Rhodes, claimed to be "investigating child porn".

According to the report, Rhodes had been acting suspiciously around the Bryan-College Station area over the past week, driving the stolen car and claiming he was an FBI Agent.

A CSPD officer later stopped and arrested Rhodes after confirming that the car he was driving had been stolen. The car was reported stolen earlier in the month. A small amount of marijuana was also found by the CSPD officer in a salt grinder inside of a yellow corn starch container.

According to jail records, he is being held on $9,000 bond for an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle charge and possession of marijuana charge. The former charge is a State Jail Felony charge.
