BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas — Just after 12:30 p.m., the Brazos County Sheriff's Office was called out to a residence on FM 159 after it was reported that a man was chasing passing cars with an axe and a knife.
When officers arrived on the scene they found 28-year-old Charles Medina in his yard, holding a handgun. According to the Brazos County Sheriff's Office Medina fired his handgun into the air multiple times before retreating behind the house. Multiple agencies arrived on scene to provide backup including, The Navasota Police Department, Constables from Precincts 1 and 3, The Department of Public Safety, Bryan PD, and College Station PD.
After a short standoff with Medina police were able to detain him. The College Station Fire Department then transported him to Baylor Scott and White Hospital for a medical evaluation.
