MADISON COUNTY, Texas — On Sunday night, a high-speed chase took place in Madison County, according to the Madison County Sheriff's Office.
The chase started near State Highway 21 near Interstate Highway 45, when authorities tried to pull 31-year-old Dillon Alexander over for having an expired registration on a silver Nissan, but he chose to take off and try to get away from authorities. The pursuit spanned much of Madison County, spilling onto both the highways and country roads.
Eventually, deputies set up spike strips at SH 21 and Farm-to-Market 1452 to slow Alexander down. When he tried to dodge the spike strips, he lost control of his car and crashed it into some brush on Standley Road in Madisonville. Alexander was also found to have methamphetamine with him, which he was arrested for alongside the charges from the pursuit.
No injuries or damages were reported. Alexander has been booked into the Madison County Jail on a felony charge of evading in a motor vehicle, as well as drug possession charges.
