ANDERSON, Grimes County — A woman is in custody after a Grimes County Deputy discovered her with multiple grams of illegal substances in Anderson, according to the Grimes County Sheriff's Office.
On Monday around 7:48 p.m., Stephanie McWiggins was driving to Giddings from Louisiana on State Highway 90 and was stopped in Anderson because the car she was driving appeared to have a fake registration. The officer that stopped McWiggins smelled marijuana, and she turned over the drugs in hope that he wouldn't search the car for other illegal substances.
The officer did a search of the car for any other drugs, and found 11.029 grams of suspected methamphetamines, marijuana, and a revolver. McWiggins has been taken to jail on a second-degree possession of a controlled substance charge and a misdemeanor charge of unlawful carrying of a weapon.
