Former caregiver arrested for late 2022 elderly credit card fraud case

Former in-home caregiver Jada Harvey, 26, was arrested for multiple instances of credit card fraud against the elderly.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — A College Station woman has been arrested for stealing the credit card info of an elderly couple and using it for her own benefit.

According to a report from College Station Police, Jada Harvey, 26, allegedly wrote down the credit card info of an elderly couple she was taking care of during her time as a substitute caregiver in December 2022. A few months after, in February 2023, the elderly woman Harvey was working with filed a report with police, alleging that they had cash and their information stolen from them.

The woman also told police that a total of 39 charges were made on her and her husband's accounts from December 2022 to February 2023.

While investigating the charges, a CSPD Detective learned that Harvey had committed similar acts of fraud against elderly individuals, and had used the stolen info to make purchases to a small pool of payment businesses and services, including Amazon, Cash App, a jail inmate charge account service, and more.

According to jail records, Harvey is being held on an $80,000 total bond for two charges each of credit card abuse against the elderly and exploitation of an elderly individual. All charges are third degree felonies.
