NAVASOTA, Texas — Around midnight on Monday, a speeding motorcyclist started high-speed chase with Grimes County authorities, and was later arrested in College Station, according to Navasota officials.
At the time, Denham Roberts-Howden, 20, was speeding on a motorcycle on Highway 6 going north. A Navasota Police officer noticed Roberts-Howden's bike didn't have a working taillight, and attempted to stop him. Roberts-Howden sped up in an attempt to get away from authorities, which saw a pursuit break out between him, Navasota PD, and Grimes County Sheriff officers.
The pursuit saw him breach speeds over 120 mph, with Roberts-Howden eventually entering the College Station city limits. Officers informed College Station PD of the person they were looking for and let CSPD work on finding him.
Roberts-Howden attempted to hide in a business parking lot, but was found and detained by CSPD officers until Navasota PD met up with them and took him into custody. He has since been booked into the Grimes County Jail.
In addition to the taillight that wasn't working, Roberts-Howden's motorcycle also had a fake license plate, no insurance or a motorcycle license, and an expired registration. CSPD also issued citations for the vehicle violations.
