Crime Stoppers seeking information on suspect in attempted murder case from Mississippi

The man authorities are looking to identify is a suspect connected to an attempted murder that took place in January in Hattiesburg, MS.

BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas — Multiple organizations have banded together in an attempt to locate a suspect that's connected to an attempted murder that took place outside the state.

Brazos County Crime Stoppers, Texas State Crime Stoppers, the Forrest County Sheriff's Office, and the Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers are looking for a tall black man standing between 6'2" and 6'4" and weighing between 275 and 350 pounds that may be close to or has passed through the area. 

He is connected to an attempted murder that took place in the 7400 block of Highway 49 in Hattiesburg, MS on Jan. 11, 2024, and is one of two wanted suspects that fled the scene at the time of the attempted murder.

Provided photos and a description show a man with a black on red jacket underneath a black "SOX baseball" style letterman jacket. The man was also wearing gray jogging-type pants and tan or brown work-style boots. A car connected to the suspect is a white 2008-2010 four-door Honda Accord with tinted windows and a sunroof.

Authorities advise those that spot the man to not approach and call crime stoppers or local law enforcement.

While a reward is being offered by Metro Crime Stoppers, the amount has not been disclosed. Brazos County Crime Stoppers says they will also be assisting with coordinating a reward for information about the suspect in the local area.
