GRIMES COUNTY, Texas — On Sunday, a woman was arrested by a Grimes County deputy after drugs were found in a car she was driving, which was stalled on State Highway 30 near the Navasota River Bridge.

When an officer investigated the car being stalled on the side of the highway, they discovered that Debra Polanco Sota of Conroe, who was also the driver, had a warrant out for her arrest from Trinity County for drug charges. She was taken into custody after a Brazos County Deputy arrived at the scene since the stalled car needed to have a wrecker called from their dispatch.

When asked if they could search the car, Vanessa Jones--the owner--refused, but a probable cause search was conducted with the help of a K-9 unit. The search revealed that there were drugs in Sota's purse--a baggie containing "a white crystallized substance" and multiple syringes. Police were able to discern that the purse was Sota's due to multiple credit cards being in her name inside the purse.
