BRYAN, Texas — A Bryan man was arrested after a two-week spree of car burglaries that took place in the southwest part of town.
According to the Bryan Police Department, between July 19 and Aug. 3, officers began investigating a string of car burglaries and later were able to come up with a suspect. On Sunday, Aug. 4, members of the Bryan PD Special Investigation Unit trailed Connor Zaragoza, of Bryan, to confirm that he was the suspect in the string of burglaries.
After spotting him breaking into multiple cars in the 5700 block of Cerrillos Drive, officers pulled Zaragoza over and arrested him after an investigation. Police also executed a search warrant in the 5800 block of Linda Lane nearby--where Zaragoza was reported to have been living--and found multiple other items that had been reported stolen from cars in Bryan and College Station.
In total, 10 stolen guns were found during the search warrant. Their total value is estimated to be $5000.
Police noted that the active and ongoing investigation surrounding Zaragoza and his actions is "large."
Zaragoza's charges include three counts of Theft of a Firearm, two counts of Motor Vehicle Burglary, and drug possession in an amount less than one gram.
Police also advise residents to be vigilant about keeping car doors locked regularly and being mindful of removing valuables. Those that see or hear suspicious activity in their area are advised to call 911 or the non-emergency line at 979-361-3888.
