Cameron man pleads guilty to 3rd degree felony for injuring a child

The DA's Office said the 32-year-old beat his daughter as punishment for misbehaving at school.

CAMERON, Texas — A Cameron man has pled guilty to injuring a child after allegedly beating his daughter, according to the Milam County District Attorney's Office.

The DA's Office stated 32-year-old Stephen Fredrich Husher III pled guilty to 3rd degree felony injury to a child on Friday, Sept. 13 ahead of a jury trial that was scheduled for that day.

Husher allegedly "severely" beat his 7-year-old daughter as punishment for misbehavior at Cameron Elementary School, the DA's Office said.

Husher will be sentenced by 20th District Judge John W. Youngblood after a presentence investigation and punishment hearing on Oct. 23, according to the District Attorney's Office.
