Two arrested, one on the run after attempted theft in Buffalo turns into multi-county chase

Authorities say efforts to locate the last suspect on the run will be done at a later date.

LEON COUNTY, Texas — Two men are in custody while another is on the run after an attempted burglary early Sunday morning.

According to the Leon County Sheriff's Office, they were made aware of the attempted burglary shortly before 2 a.m. at the United Rentals in Buffalo. When officers arrived at where the alarm was going off, the three men took off in a car, beginning a multi-city chase.

The trio was pursued through the following towns:

  • Buffalo
  • Jewett
  • Marquez
  • Centerville
  • Leona
  • Madisonville

A Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper was able to spike the car the three took off in, and they were eventually stopped in Madison County. Two of the men in the car were taken into custody, but one took off from the scene on foot.

Authorities say efforts to locate the last suspect on the run will be done at a later date.

The two men that were arrested are in the Leon County Jail on the following charges:

  • Alonzo Servin
    • Evading Arrest with a Vehicle
    • Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity
    • Criminal Mischief $750<$2500
    • Criminal Trespass
    • Burglary of a Motor Vehicle
    • Parole Violation
    • Auto Theft Warrant from the McAllen Police Department in South Texas
  • Jimmy Torres
    • Evading Arrest with a Vehicle
    • Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity
    • Criminal Mischief $750<$2500
    • Criminal Trespass
    • Burglary of a Motor Vehicle
