Juvenile arrested for threatening to shoot student at Bryan ISD alternative education campus

Police say the incident happened around 11:23 a.m. on Thursday.

BRYAN, Texas — A juvenile was arrested late Thursday morning at a Bryan ISD District Alternative Education Program High School (DAEP) after threatening to shoot another student that was at the campus.

According to the Bryan Police Department, the incident occurred at approximately 11:23 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 when a school administrator overheard the student making the threat. Bryan PD School Resource Officers and district administrators responded to the threat and were able to determine in an investigation afterward that the student that made the threat hadn't shown or was in possession of any guns.

Police say there was also no threat to the school, students or staff.

The juvenile that made the threat was arrested and taken to the Brazos County Juvenile Detention Center and booked for Exhibiting, Using, or Threatening to Exhibit or Use a Firearm or Firearms.

Bryan PD says that due to the individual's age, their identity will not be released.
