NAVASOTA, Grimes County — On Friday, a man caught speeding through Grimes County was arrested after he was discovered with a substantial amount of narcotics, according to the Grimes County Sheriff's Office.
Around 2:15 p.m. that day, a Grimes County Sheriff's Deputy stopped a red Ford truck on County Road 302 near County Road 304 for speeding. The officer smelled burnt marijuana coming from the car, and found even more of it on the shirt of Gabriel Farraj, the man driving the pickup truck.
A search of the car was done, and both THC and marijuana were found alongside other drug-related items. Farraj admitted he was the owner of the THC and was arrested for drug possession.
All that was seized included:
- 801.4 grams of THC vapes
- 104 grams of THC wax
- 340 grams of THC syrup
- 236 grams of THC edible gummies
- 95 grams of Mushroom edibles
- 4.45 ounces of marijuana
In total, 1580.85 grams of narcotics were seized, which comes out to just under three and a half pounds.
Farraj was charged with the following crimes, all of which are felonies:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 2 between 4 grams and 400 grams, four counts
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 2 over 400 grams
- Possession of Marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds
