GRIMES COUNTY, Texas — Two men from Houston have been arrested after a "Bank Jugging" incident that took place in College Station on Wednesday, Oct. 11, according to the Grimes County Sheriff's Office.
The 'jugging' incident took place around 12:20 p.m., which set authorities' sights on a Volkswagen Taos that was newer and had dark tint. Police reported that the individuals involved in the incident had roughly $1,500 and a stolen gun in the car.
On Thursday, the Volkswagen was spotted heading south on State Highway 6 in Navasota. The two men that were driving the car, Dtrik Nixon and Derek Harris, were detained thanks to the help of the Navasota Police Department, College Station Police Detectives, and other agencies.
Grimes County Sheriffs reported that the victim's money and gun were recovered.
According to Brazos County Jail records, Harris has been charged with Burglary of Vehicles, Theft of a Firearm, and Theft of Property. His bonds total $15,000. Nixon has been charged with Possession of Marijuana, Burglary of Vehicles, Theft of a Firearm, and Theft of Property. His bonds total $18,000.
