COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M University has had many successful alumni but one Aggie has gotten himself into this year’s Forbes 30 under 30 list.
Matthew Iommi has changed the group ride-share industry with his company, Fetii, and users came together to recognize his work.
“Someone from Forbes contacted me and thought I’d be a good candidate for this, so we had people who referred me, and a lot of them were Fetii users who had utilized and had enjoyed the experience,” Iommi said.
The 15-passenger Fetii vans offer transportation and entertainment while reducing emissions and alleviating traffic congestion.
Iommi described the beginning of his journey, “I was a senior at Texas A&M University, and we started off with one vehicle and it was me driving around picking up groups and dropping them off, but we quickly came into the good problem of higher demand, so we had to get more vehicles, hire more drivers.”
They have completed over 80,000 successful trips and have transported more than one million passengers since the company’s creation.
“It’s just a great recognition not just to me but to what me and the team have built and what’s nice about fetii is we’re not just getting people to where they need to go but we’re creating memorable experiences,” illustrated Iommi.
Iommi wants other Aggies to take advantage of their time at Texas A&M University.
He finalized, “What Aggies should understand is that College Station, Bryan, the Brazos Valley, is very business friendly and a good place to give your entrepreneurial spirit a chance.”
