According to Salvation Army BCS Executive Director Luis Villanueva, the event is one of many ways that the organization puts efforts out to support local families.
"They're deciding whether to pay rent or utilities and food and now school supplies," Villanueva said. "It adds up, really adds up, so the Salvation Army is trying to help them out so they don't have to make that hard decision of whether they have to do the rent or utilities and all those things."
From July 10 though Aug. 4, donors can deliver school supply items to the Salvation Army during their business hours, which can be found below:
- Monday - Thursday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
