COLLEGE STATION, Texas — In back-to-back weekends College Station will be seeing fans come in for the Mexico versus Brazil, friendly soccer game and George Strait’s only concert in Texas this year.

With over 65,000 tickets already sold for one weekend, hotels are trying to keep up with the demand in any way they can.

General Manager of the Hilton Hotel in College Station, Jose Otero explained, “Right now, we’re completely sold out so there’s not any more room here but of course we have all the amenities open for the community, the ones that can’t make to the game we actually have the bar open we have the pool bar open so they can enjoy the match over here.”

Shopping centers are also looking to help visitors avoid traffic while showcasing what they have to offer.

“We know that we are excited for the George Strait concert and the Mexico-Brazil game that we will be hosting shuttles for so guests can come to Century Square enjoy the property get dinner, drinks, shop, around and hop on our free shuttle that’s going to be at the George hotel,” said Century Square's Marketing Strategist, Madi Poland.

Local businesses hope this month will make a good impression on tourists and will put the city on the map to bring in more crowds each summer.

Otero described, “Our expectation is that all of our summers will be like these bringing concerts bringing different things that way people can visit us in Aggieland.”

Tickets are still available for both events.
