COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The City of College Station wants to help support local businesses.
Northgate hasn't had much traffic since Gov. Abbott shut down bars to slow the spread of COVID-19. That's why the city is offering free parking in the surface lot of Northgate until Tuesday August 18.
With over 100 spaces facing Church Street now being free, the city hopes this will give residents incentive to go out and support the local businesses in Northgate that are still open.
Parking will be free every day from 8AM-9PM. After August 18, parking will return to normal rates.
