BRYAN, Texas — A pretty cool new business has just opened its doors in the Bryan-College Station area. Cryotonics Wellness Studio aims to improve the quality of life through cryotherapy treatments.
Katy and Logan Lee have been playing sports all their lives, both even playing basketball at Texas A&M University. Being active as much as they have has made them prone to injuries.
“We have experienced a lot of ups and downs when it comes to injuries, but a thing that has been consistent is we always use cold therapy as part of our recovery program," said Katy Lee, the co-owner of Cryotonics Wellness Studio.
About 14 months ago, the Lee’s got an opportunity to get involved in cryotherapy. They said it was something they had to pursue.
"We’re very familiar with the recovery process, specifically at the D1 student-athlete level," Lee said.
That opportunity led them to open Cryotonics Wellness Studio which incorporates cryotherapy to help people with recovery both mentally and physically.
“When somebody asks us who our ideal client is, we can literally say just about everybody,” Lee said.
The couple's wellness studio is the smallest market in the U.S. to carry the Cryo Arctic machine. There are only about 80 of the machines in the country and 150 in the world total.
Cryotherapy exposes the body to freezing temperatures that range from -166 degrees to -240 degrees Fahrenheit in two to three-minute sessions.
"It's going to get your blood flowing, it's going to reoxygenate it and it's going to produce more white blood cells," Lee said. "That’s what helps fight off inflammation.”
Cryotonics Wellness Studio also offers localized cryotherapy, cryotherapy facials, compression therapy and a full spectrum infrared sauna.
“We’re excited to welcome Cryotonics to Bryan/College Station and show off the brand we’ve worked so hard to develop," Lee said.
The price for the whole body cryotherapy for first-time clients is $25. Membership prices start as low as $79. Appointments are preferred, but walk-ins are still welcome.
