City of Brenham announces death of former Police Chief Ron Parker

A celebration of life for Parker will be held at the Cowboy Church on Sept. 4.

The City of Brenham announced that Ron Parker died on Aug. 26.

BRENHAM, Texas — Former Brenham Police Chief Ron Parker has died, the City announced on Monday, Aug. 26.

According to the City of Brenham, Parker served as Police Chief from March 2020 to March 2024, when he retired after over 35 years in law enforcement.

Parker died on Aug. 25, according to an obituary from Brenham Memorial Chapel. He was 65 years old.

"The City of Brenham extends our heartfelt condolences on the passing of retired Police Chief Ron Parker," The City shared in a post on social media. "His unwavering dedication to both the police force and to Brenham is something we will always cherish. Chief Parker was not just a valued employee but also a dear friend."

“My deepest sympathy to Debbie and the family of retired Police Chief Ron Parker," Brenham Mayor Atwood Kenjura said in the post. "Chief Parker was an outstanding role model and was respected both by his fellow members of the police department and of our very own community. His service and dedication will be missed.”

"Chief Parker's commitment to our community went above and beyond," added City Manager Carolyn Miller. "He was a guiding light in our city, and his legacy of service and friendship will continue to inspire us all."

A celebration of life for Parker will reportedly be held at the Cowboy Church in Brenham at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 4.
