COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Brazos Valley Symphony Orchestra will be kicking off their 42nd season with performances from Grammy-nominated guitarists.
Held at Rudder Theatore on Texas A&M campus, the Spanish-inspired program will feature Isaac Bustos and Alejandro Montiel performing Joaquin Rodrigo's 'Concierto Madrigal for Two Guitars' at 5 p.m., with Georges Bizet's 'Carmen!' preceding it one hour before. Manuel de Falla's 'Three-Cornered Hat: Suite No.1' will also be performed.
Both Montiel and Bustos are renowned figures in the guitar world, and are founding member of the Texas Guitar Quartet. Both musicians are also heavily involved in teaching, with Montiel leading two full-time guitar studios at Sam Houston State University and Lone Star College - Montgomery, while Bustos heads guitar studies and is the artistic director of the Texas A&M International Guitar Symposium and Competition. He has served as a faculty member for the A&M Department of Performance Studies since 2005, and currently teaches at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

- Manuel de Falla: El Sombrero de tres picos (Three-Cornered Hat): Suite No. 1
- Joaquin Rodrigo: Concierto Madrigal for two guitars
- Georges Bizet: Carmen Suites No. 1 & 2
Tickets are $10 for students, and $55 for adults. Student tickets include those in college, grade school, and pre-school.
