KURTEN, Brazos County — Wintertime in the south means it's time to break out the chili recipes, despite how unpredictable the weather outside can be.
If you think you've got an award-winning recipe, the Brazos County First Responders Association will be holding their first annual chili cookoff competition on Jan. 27 in a community event that's going to be packed with things to do.
The cookoff will be held at the Kurten Community Center off of East State Highway 21.
There will be live music, a steak dinner, silent auction, corn hole tournament, and more, and will be held from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
