BRYAN, Texas — After being dormant since 2022 due to a fire, longtime Bryan-College Station restaurant staple Chicken Oil Company has announced that construction will begin to bring the restaurant back to the days prior to the incident.
The 2022 fire that caused the closure affected the establishment's kitchen and back house areas. Despite the damage, other parts of the restaurant that made Chicken Oil unique, such as the seating and fireplace, will remain intact.
"We understand the impact Chicken Oil Company has had on our community over the years," said Chicken Oil Marketing Director Adam Drake in a press release. "Our commitment to preserving its heritage while ushering in a new era is exciting. We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of support from our patrons and the community as we officially embark on this journey of renewal."
The parts of the restaurant that were affected by the fire will be demolished starting on Monday.
