Grimes county man arrested for possession of explosive weapons

Plantersville man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, as well as 9 counts of prohibited weapon – explosive weapon charges.

PLANTERSVILLE, Texas -- On Tuesday, May 22nd, 32-year old Christopher Cody Urbanosky was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, as well as 9 counts of prohibited weapon – explosive weapon charges.

The charges stem from an investigation into explosives being possessed, manufactured, and/or sold.

On May 21st the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office was contacted regarding a suspicious device on the property near Urbanosky’s residence.

Following an multi-agency investigation, which included the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), agents were able to identify the device as an explosive weapon.

Nine additional explosive weapons were located on the premises.

The investigation is still ongoing and the case is being prosecuted by the Grimes County District Attorney's office.
