We continue our Friday Night Lights previews with Iola out of Class 2A Division II. The Bulldogs enter the season ranked number 11 in Class 2A D-II according to Texas Football and they are hoping to jump the third round playoff hurdle.
The past two years, and in three of the past four seasons Iola has lost in the regional semifinals. The good news, Tenaha, the team they lost too each team is now up in Class 2A Division I. Head coach Dwayne Ross and company are coming off an 8 and 5 campaign where they claimed a district title.
The Bulldogs are going to be in the conversation for another district championship thanks to nine returning starters on each side of the ball. Experience and size along in the trenches is Iola's strong suit, but it also has some dangerous playmakers.
