Bryan Police arrested a 26-year-old man early Wednesday morning following a five hour overnight standoff at a Bryan Apartment Complex.

Around 6:45 p.m. Tuesday evening, Joseph Powell forced his way into his ex-wife’s apartment and assaulted her.

The victim fled the apartment with her two children, who were unharmed, according to the Bryan Police Department. The woman suffered minor injuries.

Police said the suspect then barricaded himself in the apartment.
