Blinn volleyball wins sixth straight, talks about Region XIV South Zone championship

Blinn College volleyball (26-7, 7-0) claimed its sixth straight win by sweeping Victoria College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-16 and 25-12), on Thursday night in the Kruse Center.

BRENHAM, Texas — Blinn College volleyball (26-7, 7-0) claimed its sixth straight win by sweeping Victoria College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-16 and 25-12), on Thursday night in the Kruse Center.

“It was a nice win and we played really good,” said Terry Gamble, Blinn head coach. “The crowd at home was great and the team really appreciated it.”

Shelby Sheets led Blinn’s offense with 19 kills and five aces, while recording seven digs. Taylor Henderson followed with eight kills, and Brie-Anna Armstrong and Jasmine McLemore each recorded six kills. Roxanne Morris led the Buccaneers with 17 assists, while posting seven digs, and Samantha Boatman led Blinn with nine digs, while recording 15 assists.

The Buccaneers came out strong to claim the first set 25-12. They continued to dominate the match with a 25-16 win in the second set and closed out the sweep with a 25-12 victory in the third set.

Next, Blinn will host Lee College on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at 6 p.m. for its final home match of the season. In addition, Blinn’s sophomores will be recognized for Sophomore Night.
